Western Building Systems Ltd named as Government Procurement Service Supplier
Western Building Systems has been named as a framework supplier by the Government Procurement Service for modular buildings.
To be included on the framework is testament to the Western approach and further recognition of the company’s expertise in delivering exceptional value for money and high quality buildings.
Western is a company synonymous with innovative building solutions and has established itself as one of the leading exponents in the UK & Ireland of rapid build building techniques and is recognised as a market- leading provider of both Timber & Steel Framed off-site building systems.
After a highly competitive qualification process for the provision of modular buildings, Western has been selected on the framework agreement contracts as follows:
• Generic Timber Framed Buildings - Purchase
• Generic Steel Framed Buildings - Purchase
• Educational (nursery, primary, secondary & further education classroom units) - Purchase
• Healthcare (consultation, patient accommodation and operating theatre units) - Purchase
Contracts Director, Shane Taggart who over seen the submission commented that… “Taking into consideration that Government Procurement Services procurement for the supply of modular building systems was pan-European, we are delighted to have secured a position on such a prestigious Framework Agreement. ”.
Stephen Simpson, Government Procurement Service Category Manager commented that...."We welcome Western Building Systems as a supplier on the Modular Building Systems Framework and we would encourage publice sector buyers to consider their products and services. Their success in achieving a place on the framework is well earned. The procurement process was competitive and their bid was thoroughlt evaluated as part of a rigourous tender process to ensure they are able to offer excellent value for money to public sector buyers."
This selection is another significant milestone for the company and follows the recent success of 10 school projects in 2011, where providing over 2,500 pupils new learning facilities. The scope of this work includes providing schools under the Rapid Build Schools Framework, along with providing other schools with our modular solutions. Using the very latest in design and build, Western’s modular and panelised school buildings provide stunning complementary accommodation and offer maximum space at minimum cost.
